2 April 2011

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well and happy :)

We are firmly into Autumn now considering we didn't really have a summer.....so it's all golden leaves and blackberries....lovely......we have such a huge crop in our carefully cultivated patch ;)  So it's a busy time picking berries at the moment.

All the Moschies are good at present...Liam has settled well into Grade 2 and Amelie adores kinder+ her sweet teacher....she wants to go everyday and counts the days in between.

I'm still busy sewing dollies for Ruby's Room...I'm supposed to have an extra day per week now but so far hasn't felt like it...but I sense a little routine finally coming together.  Thank goodness this is the last day of
Daylight saving....the kids are impossible to get to sleep while the sun is still up.  Fred's family live in France so we officially hand daylight and warmth over to them for 6 months......enjoy.  I've tried to also do more sewing for my little girl + for around the house too....  I made a twirly skirt+ headband for Amelie and her adorable friend Arkie using the terrific pattern on Melissa's blog at : http://www.polkadotchair.com/ - still haven't officially learn't how to do the blog links....Mippi help please???  There are so many lovely inspiring blogs out there and very generous ladies providing free tutorials on absolutely everything you could possibly want to make.  Well I'd better go for now......the below pictures are of the lovely girls and twirly skirts, a few more dolls + my handsome little man in his first meeting suit.....he's pretty chuffed....
....take care ....love lalie
PS - you might need to click on the photo for a clearer image...it seems to be a little small.

24 January 2011

A busy few months with lots of sewing involved ;)

My new second hand Janome is my new best friend and together we have made
some truly lovely little dolls.

Ruby's Room is still keeping me busy and one off orders are coming in all the time.
Oh I wish I could sew all the time...but for the moment it's just about fitting it in around everything else.

We've been on school holidays....quiet holidays at home doing day trips here and there.

The weather hasn't been too good but we've nothing to complain about in comparison to the other flood ravaged parts of our vast country.

It will soon be back to school in mid February and my little Amelie starts kinder...can't believe it...where does the time fly?  I'm hoping to spend a school day a week on sewing this week....but we'll see ;)

Better go for now....take care...love Lalie

PS:  I found this lovely quote today which I thought just perfect:  It was on "little blue wren's' blog but as I don't know how to link other blogs yet (have to ask my friend Miriam) ...I'll just paste it here:

'Hidden within the pure hearts of the young  and the distant memories of the old is a secret truth.
This magical wisdom is passed from generation to generation by gentle souls who softly whisper,
"Treat them kindly and with great love, for dolls are just like people"

They need to be well loved, held tenderly, and always respected for their uniqueness.'
