Hello Everyone,
Sorry that the entries have been a bit few and far between....so I'll make up for it now with a little recap.
My dolls have been selling well and bringing joy and delight to little faces which is the best part I think.
I really get a buzz from putting together fabrics in varied combinations to produce that one special doll.
I've been getting custom orders regularly as well as selling steadily in Ruby's Room.
I'm out of stock and working hard to built it up again as well as developing new designs....all around the crazy busy life of being a working mum and wife. It would be heavenly to be able to sew all day :)
My sewing room is coming together but a little cold at night now....oh well that's living in Tassie for you.
I've also finally finished some craft projects I've been working on as well.....so I'll add a couple photos of those too.
I'd better go for now....take care ...x nat

We did it - The inaugural Barn Market - Saturday 13 February 2010
Thought it was time to update my blog with all of the goings on at Lalie M.
I'd been sewing like a mad one woman sweat shop and was finally ready for the market.
It was fairly nerve wracking setting up but I was really relieved to see that my dolls
could hold their heads high so to speak ;) as they were up to the high standard of goods on offer.
We had a wonderful day :)
The venue was terrific and certainly contributed to the 'mellow' & 'relaxing' mood.
I especially enjoyed meeting lots of lovely fellow crafters, exchanging stories and gaining valuable
insights and ideas.
Thanks to all the friends who came along to support this first market - it was really appreciated.
So now that I have my first market under my belt I'm ready to start sewing again for the
next one. I'll give the April one a skip and concerntrate on June 2010- winter time, nice and cosy in
the gorgeous barn.
If you'd like to see some photos of the market here is the blogspot:
thebarnmarket/blogspot.com.
A big Thank You to Miriam and Helen for giving Lalie M this first market opportunity - you were both so helpful and your feedback was encouraging.
Well that's about it for now ...x nat

First Blog EVER :)

Hello Everyone,
Well after months of reading lots of lovely creative blogs I've finally decided to start mine.
As you can read in my profile, I'm a mum to 2 cheeky kids who 's always had a love of mixing colours and fabrics.
I've collected scraps of materials from all over the world and they are all treasures.
I only started making dolls last year as a fun activity with friends for our children and it's gone from there.
Next week I'll attend my first hand made market:
see thebarnmarket.blogspot.com.
It's nerve wracking but will be a positive experience I'm sure.
The picture shows a sample of what will be on sale.
Better keep sewing for now - I'll add some more photos soon.
x Lalie M
Pls note: The babushka's are all my design + the other dolls are all based on a pattern from the lovely Sarah at 'Bit of Whimsy' - a very talented lady.
